From 2023 Cannon Hill Community Kindergarten updated our Kindy programs and times to better suit the needs of our Kindy families. Rather than the traditional five-day fortnight, our centre now offers two extended programs as follows:
Kindy Purple attends every Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday from 8.45am to 2.45pm.
Kindy Green attends every Thursday and Friday from 8.00am to 4.00pm.
Each class is led by an Early Childhood Teacher and an Assistant, and an Additional Assistant may also work with the class to promote inclusive learning and help with additional needs.
Please note that our Centre operates during QLD public school terms and also has the same holidays as QLD Public Schools.
2024 Fees - FREE KINDY
As of January 2024, Queensland Government is funding FREE KINDY for 15 hours per week / 40 weeks per year. Cannon Hill Kindy is proud to be approved to offer our local community this funding. Please note, that as both of our programs have slightly longer hours than the funded 15 hours per week x 40 weeks per year, there will be a small "Additional Hours Levy" charged.
Kindy Green program offers 16 hours per week x 41 weeks.
Additional Hours Levy payable by the family is $100 per year.
Kindy Purple program offers 18 hours per week x 41 weeks.
Additional Hours Levy payable by the family is $300 per year.
* To be eligible for Queensland Kindergarten Funding (QKF), your child must be turning 4 years old by 30th June in the year they attend Kindy, and access QKF from only one program.
Cannon Hill Kindy is an approved kindergarten program provider under the Queensland Kindergarten Funding (KFS). Our kindergarten programs are delivered by a qualified early childhood teacher, and are aligned with the Queensland Kindergarten Learning Guideline, or other education program approved by the Queensland Curriculum and Assessment Authority.
We are a not-for-profit community kindergarten and we aim to ensure that cost is not a barrier to your child's participation in our quality Kindergarten program. Families who meet the eligibility criteria may be able to access additional support (Eligibility includes: a current Health Care Card, Pensioner Concession Card, Veteran Affairs card, or identify as Aboriginal, Torres Strait or South Sea Islander, foster care, or Refugee program)
