The National Quality Framework (NQF) was the result of an agreement between all Australian governments to work together to provide better educational and developmental outcomes for children.

The NQF has quality standards to improve education and care across long daycare, family daycare, preschools, Kindergartens and outside school hours care services.

The NQF helps ensure your child is given the best possible start to life. Benefits for families include:

• Better support for children's learning and development through the approved Early Years Learning Framework

• Improved educator to child ratios in most services

• A new rating system of education and care services

• Under the NQF, a Kindergarten Provider must attain certain levels of compliance in order to meet the National Quality Standards (NQS) and gain approval to operate.
