Rhonda Murphy

Centre Director & Teacher

Diploma of Teaching - Early Childhood

Rhonda has a long and happy association with Cannon Hill Community Kindergarten and began her career as Director with us in 1985. Prior to this, Rhonda taught for a number of years at Canossa Kindergarten at Coorparoo. During her years of teaching Rhonda has developed a passion for Early Childhood Education and the foundation it provides for children as life-long learners.

"Mrs Murphy" is well known and respected within our local community and absolutely loves seeing children that she taught at Cannon Hill Kindy nearly 40 years ago now enrolling their own children in our program!

Julia Lang

Bachelor of Teaching (Early Childhood)

Julia has nearly 30 years' experience teaching in Early Childhood settings and has been a favourite Relief Teacher at Cannon Hill Kindy for around 10 years.  Julia loves to encourage child-led learning and see the imaginations and interests of children grow.  She enjoys offering a variety of music, games and activities during her programs for maximum engagement with our children.

Julie Lederhose

Educator - Kindy Purple

Certificate III in Education Support

Julie has been one of our lovely Educators since 2011 and she loves working with the Kindy Purple children. Prior to joining us, Julie worked as a Teacher Aide with a number of local schools. Julie especially enjoys teaching the children new songs and rhymes with the help of Mrs Murphy's piano and guitar skills, and loves to share her knowledge of yoga and Auslan. Julie finds great joy in watching the children grow and learn through play.

Tracy Farley

Educator - Kindy Green

Diploma of Childcare and Education

Tracy joined us as at Cannon Hill Community Kindergarten in 2012, returning to work after caring for her two children (now adults!). Tracy brings lots of fun, energy and smiles to Kindy Green. Tracy loves helping the children develop throughout their kindergarten year and finds great joy in supporting the children to find their confidence and independence.

Amber Eakin

Educator - Inclusive Support

Diploma of Children's Services

Amber joined Cannon Hill Kindy in recent years as one of our regular relief educators, and is now our Additional Educator facilitating the inclusion of children with additional needs. We are committed to providing inclusive environments and programs to meet the diverse needs of all children and their families.

Amber has over 15 years of early childhood experience, mostly within community kindergartens as an Educator or Inclusion Support. As a mum of three, Amber enjoys living the "mum life" where her weekends are focused on kids' sports, going to the beach and the park.  She loves to see our children flourish throughout the year and grow into confident individuals ready for starting Prep.

Brooke Pridmore

Office Manager

Brooke joined the Kindy as Office Manager in late 2020.  Her daughter attended Cannon Hill  Kindy and she loved the play-based learning and engaging early childhood environment. Managing the Kindy enrolment process means Brooke is usually the first point of contact for most of our families and she oversees the liaison between parents, staff, committee and Lady Gowrie.

Brooke aims to keep the Kindy operating as smoothly as possible and actively encourages increasing "our village" and community spirit within our families.

We are proudly "parent powered" and as a community kindergarten, rely heavily on the help of our parents.  A team of volunteers make up the Committee each year, to assist in decision making and the future plans for the Kindy. It is a great way to be involved and know the direction, plans for your child's class and also current struggles for the centre.  We encourage all parents of Cannon Hill Kindy to be involved in some way.
